I have used Amanda in the past (actually on Red Hat), but at my current
installation we are using... Veritas (a rather moldy old version that
required me to make an ebuild for ncurses-4.2 for the shared libs). Why
Veritas? It works on a lot of platforms, including Solaris, Windows,
Exchange Server, MS SQL, etc. and of course Linux, and it's been here
for years and years. However, we are looking at switching, and while
Amanda will work on anything UNIX-like, and has some Windows support, it
is unlikely to ever support Exchange or MS SQL.
