The init system was one reason I left Mandriva too.  To have to go back 
to using one just makes me wonder if I should have stuck with it and all 
the headaches.  I really like Gentoo but it is going in the direction of 
being like all the rest with the addition of compiling everything.

What will be next I wonder.
