9 Sounds like we need more info. Maybe post the output of emerge and add
10 in the -t option.

12 Generally a -C will remove the package and not install it again unless
13 asked. You may have to manually remove the dependencies that got pulled
14 in tho. You could use --depclean to help with that. While --depclean
15 is better, use the -p option first just to make sure.
