5 Well, technically, no. But considering that some python modules are
6 implemented in C++ and link against libstdc++ (which is provided by
7 gcc), pruning old versions of gcc without rebuilding python against
8 the new version first risks breaking python, and thus portage, and
9 thus "would be bad....very bad." ;-)
