6 There is exactly zero reason to do that, so no, there's no option for
7 that. It might be possible by modifying the ebuild, but you're on your
8 own. No one tried this, since it's not needed.

10 Distro-maintained packages always go in /usr, user-maintained packages
11 go in /usr/local. There is no reason to break that convention.
