5 try ttcut it is not in portage, but it is in the gentoo sunrise
6 overlay, i use it for cutting mpeg files from dvb-recordings. the only
7 thing you have to do before cutting is to demux it to video and audio.
8 you can use projectx (which isc available wich portage) for this job
