14 Mediawiki was written in an older version of PHP, and does not use the
15 same authentication as the latest and greatest of mysql. In
16 /etc/mysql/my.cnf add the line "old_passwords" to the file in the
17 "[mysqld]" section... it seemed to make it work...

19 - this page is a little out of date. If you use PHP5, you don't need
