27 I think you are over-simplifying the situation here. Step back and look
28 at the problem from the angle of "it's a bunch of people doing stuff"
29 and not from a tech-centric angle. It's a people problem.

31 You could make a valid case that the Mozilla devs are outright lying -
32 they said they want xvy, and your offer to help provide xyz was
33 rejected. But is it really that simple? I think it's more a case of the
34 devs would like contributions for xyz and they don't mention the
35 "everyone knows" "hidden assumption" of environment abc and general
36 method def. Ahhhh, that's the usual tripping point.

38 I don't know the specifics of your particular case, but my first
39 approximation guess is that there's an abc and def in there which the
40 devs didn't think to mention. Happens all the time, usually with
41 stunningly obvious stuff that "everyone" thought "everyone else" knew
42 about. Things like future roadmaps, planned features, and the individual
43 personal preferences of each dev.

45 I guess I'll saying don't be too quick to shoot from the hip - more
46 looking less assuming is often the better path.
