Well, you can't convert the 32 bit userland directly to 64 bit. However, you can run the 32 bit userland with a 64 bit kernel. For example, you can borrow the kernel from the amd64 minimal install cd. The 64 bit kernel behaves essentially the same as the 32 bit one, so you only need to setup the bootloader like you normally would. After you've booted into a 64 bit kernel, you will be able to chroot from your 32 bit userland into a 64 bit stage3 and build your new system. |
