Hi all -
Sorry that I had to bail out of the meeting early, something came up at
work that required my full attention :/

Either way, the meeting was very productive. Here are the minutes of the
meeting:

-Releng voted that it should focus more on releng related features that
enhance the releng media instead of focusing on more broad feature
requests like ebuild GPG signing or portage-ng implementation. The main
reasons for choosing this decision were that the releng project should
not dictate to the other projects deadlines and goals and that we simply
lack the manpower. The idea of a "Product Manager", introduced by
Klieber on the -dev mailing-list was brought up, but decided that the
position did not fall under releng. The overall opinion was that it was
a good idea but not one that belonged to any one project; it should be
on a higher administrative level.

*Please note that pvdabeel was not here for the vote and I still have to
talk with him, so this may be subject to change.

-The Feature request list for .2 was decided upon and is available
publically at http://dev.gentoo.org/~zhen/2004.2_request.txt. The
features that were decided upon to be included in the release are
starred (*). Some features have specific dev teams assigned to them in
order to streamline the process as much as possible. The list will be
presented to the managers at the next meeting (Monday May 17th) for
approval and announced to the lists shortly thereafter.

Please note that I will be committing my Catalyst 3rd party module code
to CVS tonite. There have been some major changes in the layout of the
runscript, but they have mostly been cosmetic. Please note that to take
advantage of the 3rd party modules fix, you will have to unmask
>=baselayout-1.9.0 in your snapshots.

Additionally, I have committed an example livecd-stage2 template spec.
It can be found at
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/releng/docs/livecd-stage2_template.spec.txt when the web mirrors update. If it is too x86 specific, I can always tweak it so it is more generic, just let me know.

You can find the meeting log at http://dev.gentoo.org/~zhen/releng-20040512-log.txt. Let me know if there is
anything else I can do/provide :)

Cheers,
