I think gentoo-announce should be read by both users and developers, but I |
15 |
agree that some topics may be better off on gentoo-dev. Something better |
16 |
fitting on gentoo-announce might be, "We have a new document on the site |
17 |
about the new unified ebuild style". After all, all gentoo users are |
18 |
potential ebuild writers. |

I do read the cvs logs. Perhaps a better point would have been that they are |
28 |
usually very short and if I see something interesting I have to look it up. |

39 |
Well, maybe 1 in two days, but I think that things of medium importance |
40 |
should be in as well, not just the big ones like install->/usr. Like |
41 |
drobbins's recent announcements of new Portage versions, any major new |
42 |
versions of major apps should be announced. We'll see how many messages that |
43 |
makes, and if there are too many, we can do more aggressive filtering. |
44 |
|
45 |
Also, in case you've missed it, Drobbins quietly agreed to a test period of |
46 |
sorts. Send any announcements to the list, it's moderated. |
