>Well, I had already done one. |

|
5 |
>See: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8828 for bogofilter and |
6 |
>http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8827 for Judy. |
7 |
|
8 |
>I had been waiting for the "unfreeze" for them to be included and then |
9 |
>for my exams to finish so I could "Gentoo-ise" them more. Based on the |
10 |
>numbers, you will see they have been in the pipe along time |
11 |
|
12 |
>I like your ebuilds, but they are dups of mine. They are more |
13 |
>"gentoo-ised" than mine. |
14 |
|
15 |
>So while I am happy that yours came along, I would have preferred you |
16 |
>check to see if existing work was there and work on that and test |
17 |
>that. All your difference look good and I will be sure to test them. |
18 |
|
19 |
Hereby I would like to publicly apologize for not having looked through |
20 |
bugzilla's database for a previous committed bogofilter ebuild. |
21 |
Mea culpa, I really didn't know about Evan's ebuilds. |
22 |
|
23 |
As I told Evan in a personal mail the only difference being worth a look |
24 |
in the ebuilds I sent is a fix for a typo in bogofilter's man pages, |
25 |
which show '-n' and '-N' as command line options for non-spam, when the |
26 |
really are '-h' and '-H' - for ham mail -. Other than that, they're |
27 |
basically the same. |
28 |
|
29 |
As I also said in that e-mail I sent to Evan, don't you think a better |
30 |
interface to commit new ebuilds, being considered for inclusion in the |
31 |
official tree, or just to use by those willing to try out something too |
32 |
unstable - e.g. CVS versions -, might be nice? Something like a ebuilds |
33 |
'alt' repository where non-core Gentoo developers might send theirs, as |
34 |
core developers might have their non-official packages, kde-cvs or |
35 |
gnome-2 in the past come to my mind. |
36 |
I find bugzilla a bit awkward for this task, it is right to file bugs, |
37 |
but to search new ebuilds to try or even to be aware of those new |
38 |
submissions has ample space for improvement, IMHO. |
39 |
|
40 |
What do you think? Shall we try setting up something for the task? One |
41 |
could always put up his/her web page with non-official ebuilds, but |
42 |
something to join efforts would be nicer. |
43 |
