The ftp program considering the fecth function as been quite a discussion for |
13 |
a long time along FreeBSD developper and i think they still want to change it |
14 |
as there are some bug in it (i will try to find out more on mailing list). |
15 |
OpenBSD used a different way so... |
16 |
Why i disklike using this ftp or wget is the totally absence of |
17 |
"intellingence of them". I remember spendig more time downloading stuff under |
18 |
FreeBSD than compiling (when leaving fetch do stuff alone). |
19 |
That why for my part i recommend Prozilla (Achim wrote an e-mail about this |
20 |
one). |
21 |
This one is really forward (multiple donwload at the same time, searching the |
22 |
fastest mirror near you, resume...) |
23 |
|
24 |
Go to |
25 |
http://www.lintux.cx/~kalum/prozilla.html for more details |
26 |
|
27 |
I made a change in the make.default where i include a line for prozilla so |
28 |
just uncomment it and comment the wget line. And try it. |
29 |
|
30 |
And concerning the ouput, i think each person have an esthetic point of view |
31 |
on this. |
32 |
So i you don't like, just add some command line argument to change it or hack |
33 |
it (this kind of stuff are generally quiet easy to hack so you can ge wget |
34 |
look like ftp from FreeBSD/NetBSD). |
