Right. I was a bit mean. But Tom asked for a rescue system. In this case
I won't recommend the gentoo iso - sorry. He'd have to rescue the
rescue system ...

Yes. Full ACK here.

Concerning gentoo installation I'd rather like to see the "good old"
mini isos (16MB) with somewhat "current" config as installation base.
That'd be enough. Who wants to download those bloated "everything
included" isos as the ONE choice? OK. Apart from that - a demo CD or
maybe even full stage3 Live CD and maybe more as alternatives, OK.

Again: Tom asked for a rescue system. U can start the knoppix isos with
SOME configs. 16MB RAM and a 468 or higher with a bios or controller
"able" to boot from cdrom is enough. BTW the hardware recognition and
the palette of supported components is very good. So where is the
problem? The rest is for tomsrtbt, coyote, fli - whatever. Again,
concerning installation: look above ...

It exists _and_ it works _and_ the smallest one is only 16MB ...

So what's the trade for my 2 Euro Cents? ;-)
