Newer version (with a given bug fix) of the package may stay marked unstable
for a long time.
Imagine one who set ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" and he found a bug which doesn't
exist in ~x86. Hence given bug will stay unsolved untill the package will be
marked as stable for his arch (unless he will unmask the newer version).
There are many people which do not upgrade for a long time for stability
reasons.
Also some of the bugs which are beyond of scope of gentoo devs may exist for
too long time.

Also I think that it will be not so bad if the KB entry will just say: "to
solve the issue just upgrade to version xx.yy" or "to solve upgrade to
version xx.yy (recommened) or use following workaround" or "this is known
yet unsolved bug, see <link to bug in bugzilla>, here is workaround", etc.

Generally, one who meet some problem is not aware of whether this is a bug
(and whether it is fixed in new version) or this is just a configuration
issue or he might broke something. Why not to tell him?

As for outdated questions:
I suggest just to add "outdated" flag, so search will filter out in the
search outdated KB entries, while the user still able to include outdated
results in his search results by setting some checkbox.
