Michał, |
48 |
|
49 |
During the discussions around a possible Council/Trustees we have heard |
50 |
that three current council members would find in difficult to serve on |
51 |
the board of a legal entity, now you say "I don't think I would run" so |
52 |
that rules out four of the current council, leaving three undeclared. |
53 |
|
54 |
Its not finding Trustees that's the real issue its finding Foundation officers. |
55 |
|
56 |
The distinction is blurred in the case of the Gentoo Foundation Inc as |
57 |
Trustees have (mostly) doubled up as officers. |
58 |
|
59 |
With dabbott stepping down as Secretary and Robbat2 having stepped |
60 |
down as Treasurer to hand over to zlg, then stepped back up to fill |
61 |
the office when zlg departed, the Foundation is in need of individuals |
62 |
to fill offices. |
63 |
|
64 |
There is nothing in the bylaws that prevents council members from |
65 |
serving as Foundation officers. Rich0 did that for a while. |
66 |
Nothing really changed there except Rich0 lost his vote on the board. |
67 |
|
68 |
Adding three individuals to the list of potential candidates for trustees |
69 |
will do nothing to help the foundation if those candidates will not/cannot |
70 |
be officers. |
71 |
|
72 |
I don't recall any serving council members asking the foundation if |
73 |
they can be Secretary/Treasurer/whatever but that's maybe because |
74 |
the bylaw has been misunderstood? |
75 |
|
76 |
If that's the case, please talk to the trustees about an officer appointment |
77 |
today. |
