For now, I have rewritten it in python 3 which addresses my underlying |

problem of future proofing my systems against python changes. It turned |

out to be easier than I had feared, in fact I could simplify it big time |

because the NNTP module in python 3 is better. And it's definitely |

easier than to continue the hunt for a non-existent (on gentoo at least) |

packaged solution. |
